On June 26, 2011 James Craig Anderson was robbed, beaten and ran over by 18 year old Deryl Dedmon and a group of his friends, in Jackson, Mississippi, during the commission of a hate crime. Upon his arrest, Dedmon admitted they were looking for a black individual to abuse that day.
